Research on Pilot Protection for Tie Line of Renewable Energy Sources

With the continuous increase in proportion, renewable energy sources have brought great challenges to traditional protection based on fundamental frequency, due their complex short-circuit current characteristics which are different from synchronous generators. As main of tie line (outgoing line) station, differential will also be seriously affected terms its operation performance, and even failure or maloperation may occur some cases. This paper proposes a new principle pilot cosine similarity comparison by analyzing fault sources. full as criterion component auxiliary criterion, this comprehensively utilizes time domain information both sides improve sensitivity. At same time, method capacitive compensation for sampling value is proposed according algorithm comparison, prevent case external faults. The simulation results show that, compared with existing has good engineering application identifying internal faults more reliable sensitive manner.
